There was a time I thought my fire had gone out.
I was juggling responsibilities, saying yes to everyone, and carrying weight that wasn’t mine. On the outside, I was “strong.” On the inside, I felt invisible. Maybe you’ve felt it too, that heavy silence where your spark used to be. Where exhaustion takes the place of joy, and duty overshadows desire.
For me, the turning point wasn’t in another checklist of coping skills. It wasn’t in a system that wanted to “fix” me. It came in a whisper, sitting on Country, listening with Ngardi Guwanda, deep listening.
I realised something I want you to know: I don’t need to be fixed. You don’t need to be fixed. What we need is to be heard. To be held in a space that honours our stories. To be reminded that the fire we thought was gone… was never gone at all. It was waiting.
Why Women Like Marra Feel Invisible
So many women come to me carrying this same weight.
- Saying yes to everyone until they’re depleted.
- Comparing themselves to others who “have it together.”
- Swallowing their pain because they’ve been told they’re “too much.”
And like me, they whisper: “Maybe I’m broken.”
But here’s the truth: you are not broken. You are not invisible. You are not “too much.” Your fire is not extinguished, it is simply waiting for space to breathe.
Healing Isn’t About Perfection
Western models often sell us the myth that healing is about being “fixed” or reaching some polished, perfect version of ourselves. But perfection is a cage.
Healing is about authenticity. It’s about showing up as you are, honouring every scar and every story. It’s about laughing again. Resting again. Reclaiming space for yourself again.
When women like Marra are given culturally safe spaces grounded in Ngardi Guwanda (deep listening) and Gudu-guduwa (coming together), something remarkable happens: their fire rises again. And with it, their daughters see them stand taller. Their communities feel their grounded strength. The ripple effect begins.
The Fire is Waiting for You
If you’ve been carrying everyone else and forgetting yourself… if you’ve been silenced by systems that don’t see you… if you’ve started to believe your fire is gone, hear me:
It’s not gone. It’s waiting.
And when you step into a space that listens deeply, honours your story, and walks alongside you, you’ll remember. You’ll breathe again. You’ll rise again.
Because healing isn’t about perfection. It’s about authenticity. And authenticity is the fire that never dies.
If this resonates with you, know that you’re not alone. At Warida, we create safe, culturally grounded coaching spaces for women to reconnect with their inner fire.
