LISTEN Framework
Reconnecting With Inner Wisdom

Most people think listening is about hearing words. It’s not. In practice, what gets in the way is not a lack of skill, it is urgency, it is pressure, it is the need to fix, solve, or move things along. When that happens, we stop listening. We react. We follow process instead of presence. We default to what we know instead of what is actually needed.
The LISTEN Framework exists to interrupt that.
This is not a communication tool.
It is a way of returning to yourself, so you can respond with clarity, not reactivity. It supports you to:
stay present in complexity
recognise what is happening in you
move away from automatic responses
hold relational, cultural, and systemic awareness at the same time
Here at Warida we believe that the quality of your response is shaped by your state, not just your training.
The LISTEN Framework in Practice
L is for Locate Your Self
Pause. Notice what is happening in you before you respond. Your thoughts. Your body. Your emotions. If you are not aware of your own state, you will respond from it.
I is for Interrupt the Noise
Slow the automatic response. The internal urgency. The assumptions. The pressure to fix. Not everything that arises needs to be acted on.
S Sit With Deep Listening (Ngardi Guwanda)
Stay with what is being shared. Without interrupting. Without solving. Without moving away too quickly. Listening is not waiting to speak. It is staying. Listen with more than your ears.
T is for Trust Inner Knowing
Notice what feels grounded, respectful, and relational. Not just what is efficient. Not just what is expected. This is where your practice becomes intentional.
E is for Embody Empowerment
Recognise that each person holds their own choice, agency and voice. Recognise when you feel the need to take over or control the outcome. Support the person to remain connected to their own choices and direction.
N is for Nurture Collective Change
Every interaction matters. How you respond does not just affect this moment. It influences relationships, teams, and systems. This is the ripple effect and influences our families, community and wider connections.
Why this matters
When we are not regulated, the thinking part of the brain goes offline. We move into instinct. We rush. We shut down. We become rigid.
This is not failure, it is a normal human response, but if we are unaware of it, we begin to practise from it. The LISTEN Framework brings you back.
This is the shift
From reacting → to responding.
From fixing → to understanding.
From individual focus → to relational awareness.
From pressure → to presence
This is not about being perfect
You will still feel rushed. You will still feel pressure. You will still get it wrong sometimes. The difference is:
You will notice, and that changes everything.
The Work
The LISTEN Framework is embedded across Warida’s work with:
health professionals
leaders and organisations
individuals navigating complexity and burnout
We believe that sustainable change does not come from more information, it comes from how we show up in the moment.
