Loss and Grief Counsellor Training
Workshop Information
This training focuses on the development of loss and grief counselling skills which are essential for the recovery of Indigenous peoples from the multi losses and grief in transgenerational impacts of colonisation.
It provides both theory and experience related to the stages of grief from multiple losses in the therapeutic use of a loss history map.
About the artwork:
Life, death and spirituality. The teardrop that symbolises the sadness, life experiences, one’s losses and grief leaves ‘voids’ within a ‘damaged spirit’. The cocoon reflects the continuation of life as it emerges into a butterfly, while hands are used to reflect the many different colours of Indigenous people and the sustenance we need.
